How does Solar Window Film work?

What dose Solar Window Film do?

Reduce indoor temperature and glare

Increase air conditioning performance

Save energy costs

Reduce UV
70 - 99%
Hong Kong has a hot and humid climate, with strong sunshine in summer. Sun Control Window Film can reduce heat and glare entering the room by reduce solar heat radiation, saving air-conditioning electricity costs and creating a more comfortable indoor environment.
Window film is a thin material, usually made of polyester, that is multi-layered and treated with a reflective coating that can help indoor spaces save energy by retrofitting existing windows. Professionally installed window film can not only help users save on energy costs, but it can also help reduce damage to indoor furniture, fabrics and flooring by blocking harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
We have a variety of glass films from different manufacturers to choose from. Typical architectural grade window films are made of multiple layers of PET. Some layers are clear, while others are tinted or have pigments added to darken or tint the film. In addition to this, some products have metallic or ceramic coatings added to reflect or absorb energy. Finally, a clear hardcoat is added to the film to provide durability and scratch protection.
Energy saving and cooling
Window film can help improve the cooling efficiency of existing windows by up to 25%. It is estimated that in an uninsulated home, approximately 35% of heat is lost through the walls and 25% through the roof. The remaining 40% is lost through windows, doors and floors.
When applied correctly, window film reduces the transfer of energy from the outside into the home, reflecting and absorbing some of the radiant energy from the sun. The window film product will then transfer the percentage of the remaining radiant energy that is transmitted through the window where the film is installed, based on darkness and reflectivity.
In addition to protecting your home from outside energy sources, window film also helps retain any energy produced by your heating and air conditioning systems. In the summer, the film will block outside heat, and any cool air produced by the air conditioner will stay inside longer, with less escaping out the windows.

Reduce glare
Modern buildings often feature large windows, creating a greater sense of vision and space, but these large windows often create glare issues at certain times of the day. Using window film can reduce glare by up to 87%, which can ease your eyes and allow you to view things like your computer or TV screen more easily. Additionally, because modern window films are made from ultra-clear, distortion-free materials, in addition to reducing glare, the view out the window will be preserved and you may not even notice the film is there.
Block UV rays and reduce furniture fading
Most architectural-grade window films on the market block up to 99% of harmful UV rays that can accelerate damage to floors, walls, and furniture in your home and office.
There are two factors that cause objects to fade:
UV rays are the main cause of fading, but only account for 40% of the problem. Add 25% infrared radiation (IR) or heat and another 25% visible light, and objects will fade.
The remaining 10% of fading is caused by natural, physical or chemical factors. This includes steam and exhaust, abrasion, age of the fabric or wood, and color fastness. While no window film can completely block 100% of UV rays and completely prevent an object from fading naturally, it will significantly slow the fading process, protecting furniture and fixtures longer than without window film.

Security and Safety
Safety window film is a layer of tough plastic that is bonded tightly to the glass. When the glass breaks, the film holds the fragments in place, providing shatter-proof protection.
Safety window film can reduce the harm of broken glass during natural disasters, preventing severe impact and shattering. In the event of glass breakage, the multi-layer film can prevent the glass from shattering and shards from flying, helping to improve safety and reduce the chances of successful robbery.
Privacy and Decoration
Commercial window films are an attractive and practical solution that can provide privacy, filter light, create atmosphere and extend your brand in a space without reducing natural light. They are widely used in conference rooms, offices, shops, reception desks, counters, glass partitions, waiting rooms, dressing rooms and bathrooms.

Shielding (RF) radiation
Radio Frequency Radiation shielding window film can reduce the impact of high-frequency radiation passing through the glass to the indoor room, effectively shielding the radio frequency released by mobile phone transmitters (base stations) from entering the room, and reducing the radiation level indoors.
Window films have a professional coating with some precious metals and have been proven to be adhered to glass surfaces to reduce the effects of high-frequency radiation.
(RF) radiation shielding window film is also designed for indoor use to help prevent solar heat gain, glare and UV rays. It can protect interior decoration while keeping the room cool and comfortable, and play a greater role.
